Edmond Scanlon officially succeeds Stan McCarthy as Kerry Group CEO
Edmond Scanlon has officially succeeded Stan McCarthy as chief executive of Kerry Group.
McCarthy had been chief executive of Kerry Group for the past decade and stepped down from the role at the end of September.
The company, with a market capitalisation of almost €13bn, announced that its Asia-Pacific chief executive, Edmond Scanlon, succeeded Mr McCarthy on October 1.
Mr Scanlon joined Kerry Group in 1996 after graduating from University College, Cork. He has held a number of senior roles at the company.
At the appointment announcement earlier this year, he said he was "honoured and privileged" to take over as chief executive of the company, which employs more than 24,000 people around the world.
Meanwhile, Mr McCarthy has joined the board of Ryanair in a non executive role.
In May, Ryanair’s chairman David Bonderman said: "Given Stan’s outstanding record as chief executive of Kerry Group Plc he will, I believe, be a significant and valuable addition to our board."
