Dr Boucher takes reins at IMI
DR SIMON Boucher has been named new chief executive of the Irish Management Institute (IMI). Dr Boucher (pictured) succeeds Dr Tom McCarthy, who completed two terms as CEO in 2012.
The current chief operating officer at the institute, Dr Boucher was a management consultant with Accenture and stagiaire for the European Commission in Brussels. A graduate of Trinity with a masters from Florence's European University Institute, in June 2011 the Government appointed him to the Judicial Appointments Approval Board, the state body that advises the Government regarding individuals suitable for appointment to senior judicial office. He is also part of the Irish Institute of Sport expert steering group charged with developing a high performance coach development framework for Irish sport.
IMI chairman Dr Phil Nolan said the appointment "marks the beginning of a new and exciting phase for IMI". "As Ireland's only globally ranked provider of customised executive education, IMI is perfectly positioned to support our country's growing need for management development," he claimed.
