Donnybrook restaurant sells for around €700,000

A former restaurant in the upmarket Dublin 4 suburb of Donnybrook, has been sold for a price believed to be in the region of €700,000.

The premises previously traded as Tenors Restaurant and prior to that as The Avenue, but is probably best known as The Courtyard restaurant.

Located at 1 Belmont Avenue, just a few doors away from O'Connell's restaurant, the sale included a turnkey restaurant, with a large fully fitted kitchen, which extends in total to approximately 550sqm on one level and which appears to be in good condition.

It also benefits from a private courtyard area to the front as well as a parking/delivery area to the rear.

Agent Jason Millar of Colliers had been asking €750,000 but refused to disclose any details of the sale.

While it is believed that a restauranteur has purchased it, that could not be confirmed. It also has development potential as was pointed out when it was brought to market , becuase of its 800sqm site.

Colliers' quoting price of about €1,615 per sqm is only about half the recent selling prices for residential properties in Dublin 4.

In recent times a number of up market homes have been bought in the nearby sought after areas of Dublin 4 and Dublin 6.
