THREE parcels of land with development prospects, but without planning permission, are for sale in Leinster at prices ranging from €20,000 to €245,000 per acre.
IDA Ireland is selling a 25.7-acre commercial development site in Greystones, Co Wicklow, with a price tag of €6.3m. Agents Colliers say the freehold site is located at Mill Road between the railway station and rugby club. It is close to the sought-after Burnaby residential area. Zoned 'Employment' under the Local Area Plan and with planning permssion for infrastructure, it could cater for economic development, enterprise and employment.
In Rathowen, Co Westmeath, a five-acre site on the N4 near Rathowen village is asking €199,000.
Agent Eamon O'Flaherty of Property Partners Brady says the site would suit a retail filling station, a commercial or residential development. Rathowen village is located 25km west of Mullingar town and 4km east of Longford town.
The next stage of the M4 motorway may bypass Rathowen but may not be carried out for at least 10 years and no route has yet been approved.
At Newhall, Naas, Co Kildare, 25 acres of unzoned land is for sale at an average of €20,000 per acre. Located less than a mile from the M7 Newhall interchange, the property is in two adjoining lots.
Jordan Auctioneers say the quality land with extensive road frontage would make an ideal site for a residence subject to planning permission.
