Dalata's top three execs earn over €1m each
Dalata Hotel Group's founder and chief executive Pat McCann's total pay package rose 6.8pc to €1.71m last year, according to the annual report published yesterday.
Deputy chief executives Stephen McNally and Dermot Crowley earned just over €1m each for the first time when salary, bonus, pensions, benefits and long-term share-based incentives are taken into account, the report shows. Stock market listed Dalata is Ireland's biggest hotel chain, with revenues of €348.5m last year from its 38 hotels.
It was founded during the crash, initially taking over the operation of often stricken hotels and later raising a war chest to buy properties.
The pay increases last year came despite unease among some shareholders, 25pc of whom voted against adopting its 2016 remuneration report last May.
