CRH's Manifold to join chemical giant's board
CRH boss Albert Manifold is set to join the board of Rotterdam-headquartered Lyondellbasell, one of the world's largest plastics, chemicals and refining groups, with a $33bn (€29bn) market capitalisation.
Shareholders will vote on his appointment at the group's annual general meeting next month.
It will be Mr Manifold's first board appointment to a listed or private company since becoming CEO of CRH in 2014.
If voted on to the board, he'll be appointed to Lyondellbasell's audit committee and its finance committee.
Lyondellbasell told shareholders that Mr Manifold brings "experience in international operations, finance, M&A, strategic planning and project execution".
It added: "As a sitting CEO with a background in other senior management roles, Mr Manifold has acquired extensive leadership experience in competitive industries. In addition, he has significant knowledge of corporate finance, capital markets, strategic planning, and international operations."
Mr Manifold joined CRH in 1998 and served in a number of key roles before taking up the CEO role at the beginning of 2014.
