The way people shop has probably been permanently changed by the pandemic and physical shops may never again see the sales volumes they did before the crisis. That’s the view of David Manifold, chief financial officer at eShopWorld, an Irish company that manages the online sales of a host of global consumer brands.

It's unlikely that the offline trade will actually return to pre-Covid levels of volumes that they were seeing,” says Manifold, a self-confessed “strong Dub”.
