Colortrend moves north
THE Kildare-based Colortrend says it has become the country's first cross-border paint company with the planned opening of a Belfast store within a branch of Harvey Norman in the city later this month.
The new unit will be Colortrend's sixth, but the first outside the Republic and the first collaboration with Harvey Norman. A further 140 retail outlets stock the Irish-owned brand's domestic and industrial paints.
"We are thrilled to become an all-island company. Irish-owned paint manufacturers have had tough times over many decades with few left on the island. But today's announcement represents a step forward for North and South as an indigenous brand expands and grows," Liam Holland, sales and marketing director at Colortrend, said.
