The Central Bank has tapped French asset manager Amundi to oversee a €240m shares portfolio, in the first outsourcing of management of assets under its control.

Amundi has a significant Irish presence.

It bought Dublin-based asset manager KBI Global in 2016 and owns Italy's Pioneer, whose operation in the IFSC, Pioneer Global Investments Limited, is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (pictured), as is KBI Global.

The Central Bank's total investment portfolio stood at €18.7bn at the end of last year, having expanded since the crash.
