IRISH consumers have been warned about a US-based company that has been offering investment services in Ireland.
The Central Bank said that the Elliott and Lawrence Consultancy Group is not authorised to practise here.
The Central Bank published a warning notice about Elliott and Lawrence Consultancy Group in today's newspapers.
It says the company does not have clearance to operate in Ireland, but it has been offering investment services here.
This is a criminal offence and clients of unauthorised firms are not eligible for compensation from the investor compensation scheme.
The Central Bank also says that since August 1998, when its legal powers came into force, 91 warning notices naming 168 firms have been issued.
