Cali Cali, a health food brand launched by Tom Gannon and Niall McGrath, co-founders of Fulfil protein bars, has started exporting its products to Iceland.

The brand started selling there following an agreement with Netto, a Danish retail group, and Icelandic chain Hagkaup.

It started shipping its sauces, including Tijuana Hot Sauce, to Iceland in early January. The buyers are looking to test its range of crisps in the market further down the line.

McGrath, a co-founder of Cali Cali, said the deal came about through a distributor contact from his time with Fulfil. "It's been exciting because this move was totally organic," he said.

In addition, McGrath confirmed Cali Cali would be targeting further international growth. It is planning a phased entry into the UK market for the second half of this year.

McGrath said Cali Cali would soon be launching share bags of its Cali Cali crisps, which it hopes will boost export sales.

It hopes to start in health stores and progress to British supermarkets.
