An Irish graphic design company has set its sights on more gaming projects after helping launch new World War II online multi-player title Heroes & Generals.

Dublin-based Brandcentral was approached by Scandinavian specialist investor Nordic Film Games in early 2018 to re-brand the 2016 game.

Among its tasks was to develop the game's "key visual", which is the imagery and logos that adorn all marketing around the title.

The free-to-play game, which was developed by Copenhagen-based Reto Moto, is up against the likes of Epic Games' Fortnite and EA's Apex Legends.

Brandcentral's creative director Gerard Whelan said that the company worked to develop a 120-page creative brief for Reto Moto, as well as a new logo, a franchise model, and brand identity.

"Following on from the success of the Heroes & Generals launch the plan is to target more gaming projects," Whelan said.

Reto Moto chief executive Jean Marc said: "The whole company needed to buy into and contribute to a new positioning to shift Heroes & Generals from a specialist audience to a much broader player base.

"What happened was a seismic shift in how we think about and communicate our offering, which has grown from a brilliant but complicated offering to a global franchise opportunity."
