Bank on it: KBC's Deering to head new State lender
DARA Deering has been named as the first CEO of Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI), a new taxpayer-funded agency set up to lend to housebuilders, and will take up the role in September.
She was previously executive director of retail banking at KBC Ireland, where Peter Roebben has just moved from the bank's Brussels headquarters to head the Irish business as CEO.

HBFI was launched earlier this year to lend to small and medium-sized builders/developers in a bid to boost housing supply.
Meanwhile, Bank of Ireland has appointed Ian McLaughlin as head of its UK operations as chief executive, Bank of Ireland (UK) plc and CEO of Retail UK.
