IRISH fashion retailer A/wear has moved quickly into the British market and will have 20 outlets there before the year is out.

It has opened 10 standalone concessions within House of Fraser, including at the department store giant's flagship Oxford Street location in London. It has other presence in London as well as stores within House of Fraser in Manchester and Birmingham. A substantial seven-digit sales figure is expected from the first year of trading in Britain.

Ten more outlets will open in time for this year's autumn/winter season, A/wear's spokeswoman Wendy Duggan said.

A/wear has become one of the top five sellers of women's wear on top online fashion retail website ASOS. A €500,000 investment rebrand took place ahead of the British expansion and will roll out in Irish stores shortly.
