Airport food firm delivers pre-tax profits of €739,280

The Irish arm of Gate Gourmet made pre-tax profits of over €739,000 last year.

New accounts show that pre-tax profits dipped marginally from €760,418 in the 12 months to the end of December last. However, revenues increased by 5.5pc, from €12.16m to €12.84m.

Numbers employed fell from 133 to 125 with staff costs going up from €4.4m to €4.69m.

The firm is engaged principally in food manufacture and in-flight catering facilities at Dublin Airport.

According to the directors' report, "the company performed strongly in 2014".

The report states: "Efforts continue to optimise the performance of the business."

The report adds: "We are constantly seeking new opportunities and the directors hope to further expand the business in the foreseeable future and anticipate profitability in the coming year."

The firm last year paid dividends of €9.13m. Shareholder funds fell from €13.69m to €5.19m.
