AIB chief joins Siteserv as chief finance officer
THE head of AIB's corporate finance division is being appointed to services group Siteserv as its chief financial officer.
Alan Doherty has been managing director of Allied Irish Banks Corporate Finance since 2005 and has advised on more than €20bn of transactions over the past five years.
He will take up his new position in January and also join the company's board of directors.
Siteserv, whose activities range from building support services to companies such as BSkyB, supplying stages for music events and traffic light repairs, was bought by businessman Denis O'Brien earlier this year for just over €45m.
Mr Doherty said he was excited to be working with the company, which he described as ambitious and fast-growing with an entrepreneurial team.
"I have been impressed by the way the company has successfully diversified its customer base and revenue streams, and hope to play an important role in driving future growth initiatives," he said.
Mr Doherty and his team won the 'Financial Times' and Mergermarket Irish Financial Adviser of the Year Award in 2011.
Siteserv chief executive Brian Harvey said Mr Doherty's appointment will support the company's plans for further international expansion, adding: "I am delighted that Alan is to take up the position of CFO of Siteserv.
"Alan has extensive financial experience across a wide range of sectors in Ireland and internationally."
Siteserv is headquartered in Ireland, but earns more than half its revenue in the UK. The parent company has six subsidiaries -- Sierra, DSL, Holgate, RoanKabin, EventServ and Siteserv access and formwork.
