Dublin-based aircraft leasing giant AerCap and Scandinavian airline Norwegian have refused to say whether the lessor and its former nominee on the airline’s board, Anton Joiner, were aware in advance that the carrier’s major subsidiaries were poised to seek examinership in Ireland this week.

AerCap sold shares in Norwegian on Tuesday, a day before the company sought High Court protection from creditors in the form of examinership.
