Aer Lingus calls EGM for vote on pension fund deficit
AER LINGUS has called an extraordinary general meeting of its shareholders as it seek approval for a contribution of just over €190m to plug a gap in its pension fund.
At the meeting scheduled for December 10, management will be recommending acceptance of the deal
The fund in question is the joint Aer Lingus/Dublin Airport Authority scheme which has a deficit of about €750m.
The current scheme is to be frozen and employees will move to a new defined contribution scheme.
