Irish financial technology company TransferMate Global Payments is to create 25 new jobs during 2015 at their headquarters in Kilkenny.

TransferMate focuses on providing better exchange rates and lower international transfer fees to clients globally compared to those charged by banks.

The extra 25 hires will bring the total number of staff taken on by the company to 50 by the end of the year, double what management had initially expected.

Commenting on the announcement Barry Dowling, Managing Director at TransferMate.com said: “We knew that 2015 was going to be a good year for our business. We are constantly expanding our customer base and as such we are expanding our team to keep pace with our growth.

“Last summer we celebrated transferring over $5billion in foreign currency transfers for clients, a stunning endorsement of how our business is growing.”
