Ireland is becoming a magnet for bankruptcy relocations as German and other European nationals take advantage of post-crash insolvency laws that provide a quicker, and potentially quieter, route to financial recovery than in their home countries.

The Irish Independent has established that a number of German individuals declared bankruptcy in Ireland last year. They include IT professionals, restaurateurs, doctors, and even a former participant on Germany’s version of Dragons’ Den, David Schirrmacher.
