The demand for flexible and remote working from employees and corporates is driving the serviced workspace industry mainstream.
"The industry is at a tipping point and I see a future whereby people don't necessarily work from home, but close to home," Regus Country Manager Gearoid Collins told Independent.ie.
"The world of working is changed and it's not going to change back. Professionals are looking to the Workplace-as-a-Service. Simultaneously many businesses are looking at how efficiently they are using their own office space."
International Workplace Group (IWG) currently operates close to 3,000 workplace centres through its brands such as Regus and Spaces in over 100 countries globally.
The serviced office spaces, virtual offices, co-working spaces and meeting rooms offered by Regus Ireland are available across eight different Dublin locations, two hubs in Cork and two in Limerick.
Mr Collins said that the future of workspaces is being driven by digitalisation - the accessibility of broadband for members - and cost - companies have the luxury of scaling up and down without worrying about real estate investment.
"What I see at the moment is not a trend but an evolution in workspace dynamics. The marriage of flexible scalability and having the partners to facilitate evolving technology is a powerful union," he said.
"With Dublin, in particular, commercial property is very hot so rents are high. It will be difficult for any business to enter the office market.
"That's where companies like ourselves help facilitate a sustainable environment".
IWG office members have access to a business membership 'Businessworld' that allows them to drop into any of the firm's locations around the world.
At a more local level, Regus plans to expand its network across Ireland in the coming months.
"We are the first global workspace provider who has moved into these locations in Ireland and we will be looking to move into more regions as the opportunities present themselves," Mr Collins said.
