Women execs 'in minority'
Two in five managers in Ireland are women, but the figure drops sharply when it comes to executive level.
Ahead of International Women's Day today, a survey from Eurostat found when it comes to senior executives in Ireland, just 16pc are female.
Across the EU, women account for a little over a quarter of board members of publicly listed companies and less than one-fifth of senior executive roles in 2018.
Although representing around half of all people employed in the EU, women continue to be under-represented among managers.
"We have to continue to do all we can to support women across all aspects of society," said Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune.
She said work-life balance was one area of concern.
