Top guru encourages Ireland to take leadership role in wake of Brexit
Irish people should draw on the country's inner strength to forge a leadership path in the wake of Brexit, according to leading personal mastery expert Robin Sharma.
Ireland has faced down incredible hardships in recent years, but has not chosen to play the victim, and instead found a way to recover and restore its standing in the world.
And with the country now facing prolonged uncertainty because of Brexit, Mr Sharma said people in Ireland need to take a leadership role and determine their own fate as opposed to waiting for events to unfold.
Mr Sharma said that there was a dearth of leadership around the world at the moment, saying "we have forgotten what leadership is all about".
"Leadership is about putting in the work when no one is watching. Leadership is about how you act when everything is falling apart in your industry," he said.
"Leadership is not about a title or a salary. Leadership is about the depth of you character. It is difficult to aspire to mastery in a world that celebrates mediocrity. If you are not scared a lot, you are not growing very much. If you want to be a more powerful leader, do the things that terrify you.
"Visit the places that scare you."
