Happier employees are 12pc more productive and take 10 times fewer sick days, Marci Shimoff bestselling author, world-renowned transformational teacher and expert on happiness, success, and unconditional love, told the Pendulum Summit.

In addition, Ms Shimoff said that happier employees achieve greater success in sales.

Therefore, Ms Shimoff said, happiness does affect the bottom line.

In her talk to a captivated audience Ms Shimoff  said that Irish people have discovered the secret to happiness, which she followed with a picture of Guinness and Tayto!

However on a more serious note, Ms Shimoff said that despite people never having so much, one in four women today are on anti-depressants.

The good news she said is that science has cracked the happiness code.
