World's best to line up at Tattersalls

Ireland's top eventers will go head to head with the best of world and European riders at this weekend's Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair in Co Meath.

Elizabeth Power, Louise Lyons, Geoff Curran and husband and wife team Patricia and Michael Ryan are among the Irish riders who will line out against William Fox-Pitt, Oliver Townend, Andrew Nicholson and a host of overseas riders.

Almost 300 top international horses and riders are entered and for the first time, the event will feature a top-ranked CCI*** class.


World-renowned rider Ian Stark has produced a new and exciting cross country course and there will be no less than seven classes over the weekend including the Irish Field CCI***, the Tattersalls Ireland Event Horse Sale CIC***, the Rookery Park sponsored CCI** and CCI*, the Eventing Ireland sponsored U25 class, the Tattersalls Ireland Autumn Festival of Eventing Junior class, and the Dunboyne Castle Pony class.

It has also been confirmed that HRH Princess Haya of Jordan, president of the world governing body, the FEI, will be visiting Tattersalls during the weekend.

Picnics and barbecues will be the order of the day, with spectators on Saturday able to watch the thrills and spills of cross country day by booking a picnic site overlooking the water fence.
