With all the heavy spring work done and no ground left to plough, I had to resort to some weight-lifting with the 5455 to see what it could handle. On the bar was a three-furrow Overum reversible plough and a four-furrow Kverneland reversible.
The 5455 handled the Overum with ease on the road and a small bit of cabbage patch ploughing. MF's active transport control smoothed out the bumps when carrying the plough on the road. The 'snatch and grab' with the Kverneland, the demo 5455 wobbled at the knees but obliged nonetheless. This weight-lifting exercise showed that Massey's mid-ranger is more the decathlete than a European weight lifter, but then again that is what it is supposed to be.
