Three key posts within IFA are up for grabs this week, with elections for the chairmanships of the livestock, farm business and rural development committees.
Henry Burns, the former sheep committee chairman, is looking to make a comeback as he battles it out with Mayo's Michael Biggins to take over from Michael Doran as head of the influential livestock committee.
There is a four-way battle for head of the rural development committee. Pat Murray (Wexford), Flor McCarthy (Kerry), Colm O'Donnell (Sligo) and Ambrose McDonagh (Galway) have all thrown their hats in the ring for the position to be vacated by Tom Turley.
Three candidates are in the running to take over from James Kane as head of the farm business committee. The trio are John Bambury (Kilkenny), Tom Doyle (Wexford) and Seán Brosnan (Kerry).
