Kerrygold butter is made in 25kg blocks by numerous creameries across Ireland, all of whom are members of the Irish Dairy Board (IDB). The 25kg blocks of butter are shipped directly to the Kerrygold factory in Dusseldorf, Germany, which has even had a street named after it -- Kerrygold Strasse. In the Dusseldorf plant, the butter is reworked to ensure the creamy consistency and goes down a packing line into various pack formats. Next, the recognisable gold packs of Kerrygold are distributed out to retailers all across Germany. German consumers like Kerrygold butter because of its connotations of grass-based farming, purity and great taste.
