Teams to battle it out in bid to be crowned inaugural tractor-building champions

The 'All-Ireland Tractor Build Challenge' will kick off its inaugural competition at this year's Ploughing Championships. The Ferguson 20 Build 'All- Ireland Challenge', sponsored by Irish Vintage Scene magazine, consists of a team of four seeing how quickly they can rebuild a stripped-down Ferguson 20 tractor.

The event will take place every day at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

For this competition, the tractor is completely dismantled, with just the engine sitting on a box -- all other parts are removed.

Currently there are three teams of four taking part, and they each take their turn in stripping and rebuilding an original Ferguson 20.

The three teams travelling to the Ploughing Championships are from Mountbellew, Co Galway (today), Ballygawley, Co Tyrone (tomorrow), and Inishowen, Co Donegal (Thursday).
