Talks go on in Drumlish

Negotiations are continuing for a 47ac non-residential farm at Drumlish, Co Longford, which was withdrawn from auction unsold last week.

Approximately half of the land was under forestry, having been planted six years ago. The remaining land was under grass but would be considered suitable for forestry.

A guide price of around €200,000 had been set for the farm but it never exceeded €142,000. It was subsequently withdrawn unsold.

It is understood that interest in the farm was mainly from the forestry sector.
