Study to offer better infection status data
Moorepark has just finished a major herd-health study. This study, involving bulk milk samples and bloods, was conducted on 330 farms last year and the average herd size on these farms was 90 cows.
The work was led by Regina Sayers, a herd-health research vet, and the results of this work will be presented to the farmers involved this week.
The project will provide a good indication of the status of infectious diseases in the Irish dairy cow population.
