Raymond Potterton Auctioneers sold a 32ac farm at Mulliganstown, Delvin, Co Westmeath under the hammer last week for €216,000 or over €6,750/ac. The property was bought by a local farmer.

Located four miles from Delvin off the N52, the property is primarily in permanent pasture with the exception of a 6ac parcel in maize.

Further south in Kildare, Paddy Jordan had four active bidders for a 20ac equestrian property, located 5.5km from Newbridge, which sold for €235,000, or over €11,000/ac.

Meanwhile, Ballinasloe auctioneer, John Dolan sold a number of properties recently. The lands were located at Barnaboy and Graveshill two miles from Laurencetown off the main Portumna/Ballinasloe road.

The largest section was a 31ac holding of mixed quality land. This was withdrawn from auction at €120,000 and negotiations are ongoing.

A 14ac parcel was bid to €90,000 before it was withdrawn and a 5.7ac piece was bid to €38,000 before it too was withdrawn. Both parcels were bought immediately after auction by the same customer.

A 4.4ac piece was withdrawn at €15,000 and sold immediately afterwards.

A further 7ac at Knock, Taughmaconnell, Co Roscommon sold after auction for a figure in excess of €90,000 or over €13,000/ac.
