A place that rejoices in the name 'Ringarogy' will always attract attention and there are many people for whom such an address would be particularly appropriate.

Placename aside, this interesting residential property on 30ac at Ringarogy, Baltimore in west Cork is on the market with a guide price of between €450,000 and €500,000.

The island of Ringarogy, located 20 minutes from Skibbereen and five minutes from Baltimore, is reached by a causeway from the main road linking the two west Cork towns.

In Irish the area is known as 'Rinn Gearroige' translated as 'the point of the small portion' and if one were to buy the property one would certainly own a small portion of a lovely place.

The property has great views and direct private access to Baltimore Harbour.

The holding includes a large residence extending to 3,000 sq ft, two guest lodges and a wide range of outhouses, farm buildings and sheds.

The accommodation in the two storey main house is extensive and comprises six bedrooms a bathroom, a guest WC, two reception rooms and a kitchen.

Of the two guest lodges, one is a single storey two-bedroom structure, while the other is a two-storey house with living accommodation that includes a kitchen, shower room and dormitory style sleeping accommodation laid out in hostel style.

The main house and the lodges are in need of renovation and refurbishment.

The outside buildings include a 300 sq ft storehouse, a haybarn and a shed extending to 1,800 sq ft, all of which could do with work.

John Hodnett of selling agents Hodnett Forde describes the 30ac of land as mixed in quality and in need of attention, particularly reseeding.

The farm has extensive shoreline, and given this great natural asset and its location in a high amenity area, the entire property should lend itself to development as a mixed rural tourism project or as a substantial private residence.
