Southern lads get a bit of Northern exposure

Students from Kildalton College, Piltown, Co Kilkenny, were guests at a dinner held at Greenmount Campus, Co Antrim, recently.

The event was hosted by John Fay, of the College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), and sponsored by the Ulster Farmers' Union (UFU).

Eighteen agricultural students from Kildalton swapped places with 15 Higher National Diploma students from Greenmount as part of an exchange programme.

Both groups spent a week at each other's college, attending workshops, carrying out milking duties and visiting commercial farms.

They were also honoured with a guided tour of Stormont, hosted by the North's Minister for Agriculture, Michelle Gildernew.

The Kildalton students are pictured with Greenmount staff and the UFU's Clarke Black (front centre).
