The Society of Irish Foresters (SIF) was founded in 1942 and organises field trips and lectures, often in conjunction with the ITGA and ProSilva. It also publishes 'Irish Forestry', the only technical publication on forestry in Ireland, a bi-annual newsletter, policy papers, and other books of historical and technical interest.
SOCIETY OF IRISH FORESTERS
Members are bound by its Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, and it influences forestry education with a view to maintaining high standards.
To this end it has introduced a system of Continuous Professional Development to ensure that professional foresters remain up to date in current forestry practice and other matters of professional development.
