SFP changes by Thursday

Farmers are being reminded that amendments to this year's Single Farm Payment (SFP) applications may be made up to this Thursday, May 31.

This facility enables farmers to withdraw land, reduce the claimed area of a parcel or change parcel use from eligible to ineligible without paying a penalty.

While certain amendments are allowed after this date, they will be subject to a 1pc reduction for each working day the amendment is late, up to, and including June 9.

Farmers are free to use this option provided they have not been notified by the Department of any irregularities or notified of an on-the-spot inspection.

Copies of the amendment form are available from local Department offices, Teagasc, agricultural consultants and online at www.agriculture.gov.ie
