Holidays with an agricultural twist

Ireland’s leading agricultural tour specialist, GTI have a number of agricultural holidays to help you see the world and create long-lasting memories.

GTI, the group travel specialist, is an Irish-owned travel company focusing on escorted tours and tailor-made group travel. Their high-quality holidays include cultural trips in Europe and around the world, agricultural tours, historical and battlefield tours and special interest holidays.

It offers packages with flights, transfers, experienced guides, accommodation and excursions.

John Moran, a dairy farmer from Clarinbridge and Dairy Farming in One Mile Dairy unit, Oranmore, Galway, has travelled on several different agricultural tours through GTI, and has even more planned for the future.

“I always wanted to travel to New Zealand to see it from a dairy farming perspective,” says John. “So, when I saw a GTI advertisement for a trip to New Zealand for three weeks in 2012, I booked it immediately. I didn’t know anyone going on the tour, but we all became great friends after our experiences together.

“I also personally organised a return trip to New Zealand in 2017, and I was able to arrange that through GTI. I organised it for my Galway Grazers dairy discussion group as we had outings we really wanted to do. GTI took care of everything that we wanted. They were always so professional and easy to work with.”

GTI’s agricultural holidays are a great way to see the world and discover different agricultural techniques. With a balance of educational agricultural visits, fun excursions, cultural tours and amazing sights, an agricultural holiday is a truly unique way to see the world.

“GTI always work with the best local tour guides and their services on the ground in the countries we visited,” says John. “The New Zealand trips involved travelling to the north and south islands exploring both agricultural activities and the local culture. The Maori evening festival was a real treat. This included traditional music and dances with a locally sourced cooked dinner afterwards.

“Exploring the different cultures and farming methods in different countries really opened my mind. I experienced so much that was different from my everyday life.

“The trips are for anyone with an interest in country life and localised cultural activities. The tours that I have travelled on have been incredibly enjoyable for everyone. I would definitely encourage people to book with GTI.”
