Fire fighters battle blaze for 10 hours at Offaly farm

A significant fire has been reported on a farm near Ballycumber in Co Offaly.

Emergency services are battling a hay barn fire at the farm which has been burning overnight. Teams from Clare and Ferbane are in attendance at the scene.

It is understood the fire has caused significant damage at a shed in the Ballycumber area containing several tractors, machinery and bales of hay and silage.

The fire brigade were called to the incident at 4.45am this morning and are now starting the process of removing the bales from the shed with a teleporter to extinguish them individually.

The cause has yet to be determined with the Gardai understood to be investigating.
