A 25-year-old student from Tipperary who had been missing for almost a month has been located safe and well.

Gardai and the family of Stephen Cullinan, who is a student at the University of Limerick, have confirmed that he has been located safe and well.

The computer science student left his accommodation in Castletroy on Thursday, November 2, before heading to Dublin.

His mother rang him at about 5.30pm that evening and phone records show the call was received in the St Stephen's Green area of Dublin.

CCTV also confirmed that Stephen travelled south over O'Connell Street Bridge into Westmoreland Street around that time.

An appeal for information on his whereabouts was launched by gardai and his family on November 9.

A large social media campaign for information also took place.

Last night, local representatives from the Tipperary area said that he had made contact with his family and today, his father Tim said the family wanted to thank everyone who had helped in the search for Stephen and the support the family had received over the weeks.

Gardaí confirmed that he had been found safe and well this morning.
