Double farm fatality - men in 20s and 70s die in separate farming accidents
Two men have died in separate farm accidents in Wexford and Offaly this morning.
The Health and Safety Authority has confirmed that a man in his 20s died on a farm at Moneyribbin, Co. Wexford, when a quad bike overturned when he was working on his father's farm.
It also confirmed that a farmer in his 70s died in a separate accident on a farm outside Birr, Co Offaly in a farming accident that involved a tractor. A HSA spokesperson confirmed that the accident on a farm at Fivealley.
This brings to four the number of deaths on Irish farms to date this year. A farmer in Roscommon died this weekend when he sustained head injuries in another farming accident.
Earlier this year an elderly man died in Co Wexford when working with farm machinery.
