Land sales in Co Carlow have been relatively quiet this year but in the next few weeks some substantial holdings in the county are coming to market.

One such property is a 76ac farm with a renovated farmhouse and renovated gate lodge located at Ballysallagh, Hacketstown.

The land is coming to auction with a guide of €8,000 to €9,000/ac, while the main house on two acres has a guide of €250,000. The gate lodge on 0.75ac comes with a guide of €100,000. Located 0.5miles from Hacketstown, seven miles from Tinahely and 18 miles from Carlow, the land is all in grass,, has two farmyards and comes with the benefit of entitlements. The two houses are immaculate.

According to Hacketstown auctioneer Tony Jackson, the farm will be offered for sale in a number of lots at auction.

Lot one comprises a four-bedroom granite farmhouse with a large garage on 2ac.

The house has been extensively and tastefully renovated using wood and original stone and is in pristine condition.

Lot two consists of a granite gate lodge with one bedroom that has been fully renovated and extended to include a large sunroom. The cottage sits on 0.5ac and enjoys great views of the surrounding countryside.

The land will be sold in two further lots, each of which comes with a farmyard, sheds and entitlements. The sheds are good structures on concrete floors but of a traditional type.
