Private treaty sought for 'well-maintained' 26ac

A 26ac farm with 700 to 800m of road frontage on the outskirts of the Co Offaly village of Walsh Island is being sold by private treaty by Stradbally auctioneer John Hennessy.

The lands are currently divided between tillage and pasture and are very well maintained. There was a dwelling on the farm but this was replaced by a prefabricated house that now stands in the yard with all services including a septic tank. The neatly maintained farmyard is approached by an avenue and the buildings in the yard are of the traditional type with three lean-to sheds, a silage pit and cattle handling facilities.

Mr Hennessy explained that while the farm was being sold by private treaty at the moment, it may go to auction. "We are guiding this at €8,000/ac and while we are open to offers, we may put it to auction," he said.
