Prime 50ac Clonmel farm for sale

Ronnie Bellew

SOLID interest is expected from local farmers for a 50ac block of prime agricultural land, on the outskirts of Clonmel, which is being brought to auction next month at a guide price of €8,500-€10,000/ac.

Located approximately three miles from Clonmel, the farm at Powerstown has some road frontage off a cul-de-sac and selling agent John FitzGerald, of Dougan FitzGerald, says viewing is essential to appreciate the location and quality of the elevated, south-facing, square-shaped holding.

Mr FitzGerald says the land – currently in permanent grassland – is of high agricultural value and is suitable for a number of uses including bloodstock, grazing and tillage.

There is also potential to build a residence on the property which enjoys fine views over Clonmel and the surrounding countryside.

The same agent is also bringing a 15ac holding of land at Powerstown to auction on the same day and this is being guided at €9,000/ac.

The L-shaped holding is currently in tillage and comes with disused sheds and stables. Mr FitzGerald says the land is of very high quality and would be ideally suited for a farmer looking to expand his acreage rather than continuing to pay high prices for rented land.

Both holdings will be brought to auction by Dougan FitzGerald at 3pm on August 14 at the Hotel Minella, Clonmel.
