A lovely neat farmhouse is the centrepiece of a 45ac residential farm at Glinsk on the Galway/Roscommon border. The property is for sale by private treaty with a guide price of €300,000 or €6,500/ac.

Located between Glinsk and Creggs, the property is laid out in about 10 fields of grass that are well fenced and well looked after and come with substantial road frontage.

The house is a two-storey, four-bedroom residence in excellent condition, with PVC windows and doors and a sunroom to the side.

There is a fine array of outbuildings including a five-column haybarn, stables, dog runs, a cattle crush and pen.

Auctioneer Ivan Connaughton says the lands are all of good quality and the place was well looked after and would make an ideal starter farm for a new entrant.

Moving east of the Shannon to Co Westmeath, Moate auctioneer Denis O'Roarke is handling the sale of a 41ac grass farm. The holding is located at Ballyscarvan near Moate.

The property is to be sold at auction with a guide of between €200,000 and €225,000 or €5,000/ac to €6,000/ac.

Located within 2km of Moate and 3km from the M6 motorway, the roadside farm is serviced by an internal roadway and watered by a stream.

It is described as a good grass farm, although some of it is backing into 'moory' soil suitable to summer grazing and more of it comprises of good solid grazing land.

The property is well fenced and has access to a cul de sac road from the town of Moate but is essentially agricultural ground. Mr O'Roarke said the farm was priced to sell.

The auction takes place at the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore at 3pm, tomorrow, April 22.
