The Farming Independent tent will offer thought-provoking interviews and panel discussions throughout the National Ploughing Championships.

The events in our jam-packed schedule include a debate on women in farming, which kicks off at 11am today.

  • Columnists Robin Talbot, John Fagan and Henry Walsh will give their views on Brexit and its effect on farming at 1.30pm today;
  • The topical issue of pre-nuptial agreements and succession will be discussed by a team of experts tomorrow;
  • Also tomorrow, Peter and Paula Hynes will explain what it takes to become Farmer of the Year;
  • And on Thursday, journalist and radio presenter Paul Williams will host a robust debate on rural crime.

For sports fans, there will be an opportunity to meet some of the country's top sports players and also pick up the latest pack of Cúl Heroes cards.

Talks on lifestyle, fashion, horse racing and country music are just some of the highlights at our tent while the Farm Ireland app, which is available to download on iOS and Android, will be on hand to keep you up to date with all things Ploughing.

Farm Ireland is also running an exclusive competition in which visitors to the Ploughing can win a new Honda quad worth €7,000.

A free bar of Lindt chocolate and bag will be given out with every Irish Independent, which costs €1, while the 'RTÉ Guide' will be included on Thursday.
