Northern Ireland firm Quad-X will again debut another new product at this year's Ploughing Championships.
Almost without fail, every year this innovative firm has something new on display at the show, and this year it is a dual-purpose straw/silage drum shredder (left).
This is a three-point linkage machine which, as the name suggests, has been developed to both chop and blow-out straw, and chop and feed-out silage.
The manufacturer claims it can handle both round and square bales for bedding or feeding and clamp silage for feeding.
Quad-X says the machine can shred a bale for feeding or bedding in less than five minutes. It has been designed to be both lightweight and robust so it can be operated by tractors from 60hp and up.
The firm states that the drum shredder can distribute, or blow, straw up to a distance of 18m by using an optional chute. This is achieved by using what is described as an innovative fan design to maintain air pressure and achieve maximum flow of straw over large distances.
The Quad-X stand is at H242.
