Kverneland Group Ireland will be looking ahead to the fast approaching winter feeding season by launching a new mixer wagon at the Ploughing.
The firm's new generation duo mixers are purpose-built heavy duty machines with plenty of power and efficiency.
Factor in novel features such as own gearbox design, wireless control, new weigh bars and cross conveyor, and Kverneland is confident it has produced one its best models yet.
The new twin auger mixers are available with capacities of 14-30m and an array of options to customize the machine to local farm conditions.
Central to the new mixers is a conical chamber design and the turbo augers, which are matched to each other in size and dimensions.
Kverneland says the design boosts mixing performance by optimising the flow of material in the hopper with augers running at low resolutions
This increases productivity by reducing
mixing time and fuel consumption. A hopper ring on top of the chamber provides continuous feed material movement without blockages by moving the material from top and then back down to the hopper bottom.
This provides faster mixing, especially of baled material and long fibre feeds.
The wagons are fitted with Kverneland's own planetary gearbox.
This is specifically designed for the tough requirements of vertical mixers with more torque.
The four planetary gears provide the power needed to withstand shock loads caused when starting up a fully loaded hopper, or when cutting whole bales.
Kverneland will also be displaying a new range of straw choppers this week. Visit the exhibition at row 27, stand 432 to assess your winter machinery needs.
