The Irish Charollais Sheep Society has a busy schedule of sales for the next two months, with 24 regional lamb sales organised.

All sheep entered in these sales will be pedigree, registered and inspected animals, while many rams will be eligible for the Sheep Technology Adoption Programme.

There will be a breeders female sale run under the auspices of the Charollais Society on Saturday, October 26, at Tullow mart, Co Carlow.

In addition, the society will also hold a number of breeders production sales. The sales for Sarah and Michael O'Neill (A17) and Frank Barrett (D29) will take place after the Female Sale at Tullow on October 26.

A sale for EP O'Gorman (A54) and Edward Buckley (D82) will take place at Roscrea Mart on Saturday, November 9, while a sale for Richard and Michael Higgins (D73) is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, at Athenry Mart.

This week, the society will have a large stand in the National Sheep Breeders Association Tunnel, where it has a number of high-quality purebred and crossbred Charollais sheep on display.

The stand will feature photos and results from the All Ireland Championship Final in July and the Premier Show and Sale at Tullow Mart. For the first time, the sale drew visitors from both the British and French Charollais Sheep Societies.
