The Queen of the Plough, or Anna May McHugh really doesn't know when to stop.

Tonight, just days before the Ploughing Championships kicks off Anna May found herself centre stage on the Late Late Show.

In fact, she told Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy that she doesn't know what the word 'retirement' means.

"I really don't..can you spell that?," she joked.

Ryan asked her about ageism and keeping going long beyond the usual retirement age of 65. She said that as along as she can deliver what is expected of her to deliver by her association, she will continue to do so.

"But if I feel I am ever getting the push, I will be gone before the push comes."

And, she said she has good eyesight and will see the push coming, if that happens.

Anna May was full of praise for her association, which runs the National Ploughing Championships, which take place outside Tullamore from September 19-21 this year.
