Oz meat exports to China second highest monthly volume on record
Australian red meat exports to China during September reached the second highest monthly volume on record, at 23,795t, according to the Australian Department of Agriculture.
The shipment consisted of 8,682t of sheepmeat and the third highest monthly beef and goat exports, at 14,522t and 581t.
Australian red meat exports to China during the first nine months of 2013 totalled 175,213t, a massive 381pc higher than the corresponding period last year and 682pc above the five-year average. The most popular cuts among Chinese buyers in September were shin/shank, followed by brisket.
